"Health: the economic and social challenges", Janet Compton, CEO, Northern Health

Janet joined Northern Health as Chief Executive Officer in May 2013 after an extensive career in health. Janet's career started as a Physiotherapist, after which she held several senior appointments in Victoria and New South Wales. Janet understands the importance of working with staff, patients, senior clinicians and the community to drive outstanding patient care. Throughout her career Janet has gained a reputation as a transformational leader; leading intricate organisational change that has effectively delivered long term strategic goals. Janet has a strong commitment to system wide reform,with a focus on improving the safety and quality of patient care and at the same time achieving the organisations financial imperatives.
Janet has a Bachelor of Science, Post Graduate Diploma in Physiotherapy, Post Graduate Diploma in Administration, Masters in Public Policy and Diploma from the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Currently a Director of the Box Hill Institute and the Centre for Adult Education.
